The future? It’s female!

The Future? It's Female!

“I never dreamed about success. I worked for it”- Estée Lauder.

Whilst it hasn’t been an easy journey, over the last years, we’ve witnessed a pivotal change in what the future of business looks like (here’s a hint: it’s female!).

From CEO and Founder of sustainable brand TALA, Grace Beverly, being named in the Forbes 30 under 30 list at just aged 23; to CEO of Bumble Whitney Wolfe Herd being once named the youngest self-made women billionaire.

Females are paving the way in the 21st Century business landscape. No longer are they sitting back and watching as males lead the forefront of business decisions.

The tables have turned, and they are now becoming the pioneers themselves.

At AmbitionABM, we have also experienced our own success over the last years.

In 2021, we won the Global Agency Award for the Best New Agency. This was a huge accomplishment for us here at AmbitionABM, not just for being a small business, but even more so, a female-led small business.

For us, being a woman-owned agency is a critical and defining factor of who we are and how we stand out in a still predominantly male-led world.

Despite the successes of Beverley and Wolfe Herd among many others, in a report released by the Cranfield School of Management in 2021, only 8 of the CEOs in the top 100 companies here in the UK are women, and only 31 women held executive roles across 27 of the companies (i.e. Chief Financial Officers and Chief Executives).

Whilst accomplishment and recognition of females in business is growing, the above statistics suggest we still have a way to go.

AmbitionABM? We want to change that: and we need more businesses to change too.

Since our conception nearly 3 years ago, we have continued to be valued and certified members of WeConnect, a global network that connects women-owned and led businesses to some of the largest international corporate brands.

From wealth support to training, the organisation shares our vision for businesses: that they should be equal, inclusive, and diverse environments. It’s continuing to break down those gender barriers and open the doors for corporates to have more conversations with female-led businesses.

This certification is essential to our ethos at AmbitionABM. It demonstrates our commitment and pride in being a women-led business; that we’re not afraid to push for success and make our voices heard in an industry where leadership roles are still held mainly by men.

And for those international corporates? Being a WeConnect International Member Buyer will not only innovate and provide a host of different, talented voices into their businesses, but it will also enhance their diversity and inclusion figures too, making them a more desirable corporation to work with in the long-term.

In fact, last year, Capgemini topped the list of Inclusive Companies top 50 most inclusive employers in the UK, making it the first technology services and consulting company to ever do so.

As an account-based marketing agency that provides consultancy to predominantly tech corporations, AmbitionABM is delighted to see more companies like Capgemini upholding similar values to us and paving the way in providing more inclusive and diverse working environments.

It’s those companies that share our values, that we want to do business with.

By improving your diversity and inclusion statistics, it means you’re providing more women with the confidence that they can be a part of those key business decisions and reach for those top business job roles. And it’s certainly being seen across the wider marketing industry, as we witnessed an equal 50:50 split of men and women applying for marketing director roles in 2020.

From marketing directors to CEOs, it’s becoming even clearer, that the future is female when it comes to businesses.

So, what are you waiting for? You may be an international corporation wanting to make a difference when it comes to diversity and inclusion, or perhaps you’re a female-led business looking for more support on your journey to business growth.
